Our New House Decor Inspiration | The Westmount Tudor

We have officially been in our new house for roughly a month and a hald now, which I am deeming “The Westmount Tudor” from here on out. “Westmount” because that’s what the area is called and we are right by Westmount Golf & Country Club, which is where we are getting married this June. “Tudor” if you couldn’t guess, it’s a tudor style home.

About the design style

The Westmount tudor has great bones, but everything besides the kitchen is dated which means for the most part, over the next few years & maybe beyond, we will be completely renovating the house from top to bottom, including the exterior and landscaping.

Other than painting the entire interior as soon as we moved in, we do not have any major rennovation plans as of yet. The first thing we’d like to do is probably replace the wood flooring on the main floor to be more consistent.

As you can imagine, being the interior design junkie that I am, I have been on Pinterest & the web, researching design inspiration & sourcing new furniture. You can check out my favourite ideas here.

I’ve curated some of my favourite pinterest images to share with you here. The look we are going for is “Mid-Century Modern Farmhouse.” I want it to be warm, comfortable, clean & inviting.

In the meantime, pre-renovation, I will be working on filling out home with furniture, as we have a lot more space now! Having a fully decorated room helps mask the dated finishes, which means we can push the actual rennovation until we are 100% sure with what we want to change.
